I am thrilled to share insights into a hidden gem that might just be the dream location for your special day – The Parklands of Floyd’s Fork. Nestled in the heart of Louisville, this donor-supported park system offers two distinct venues, Beckley Creek Park and Turkey Run Park, each providing a charming blend of indoor elegance and outdoor beauty.
Beckley Creek Park features The Gheens Foundation Lodge, a picturesque venue accommodating anywhere from 25 to 300 guests. The lodge boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that seamlessly integrate the natural surroundings, making it a perfect choice for those who wish to celebrate amidst the beauty of every season. The UPS Great Room and Parklands Room offer versatile spaces for both intimate gatherings and grand celebrations.
On the other hand, Turkey Run Park presents the Hockensmith Barn, a rustic haven for couples seeking an authentic, yet elegant, atmosphere. This seasonal venue, available from mid-May to mid-October, can comfortably host up to 225 guests and comes with a private event/ceremony lawn for those enchanting outdoor ceremonies.

The Gheens Foundation Lodge epitomizes the park’s architectural style, with wood-paneled interiors creating a snug and welcoming atmosphere. The Creek View Terrace and Event Lawn add to the venue’s charm, offering options for both indoor and outdoor events. The Parklands Room, with a capacity of 35, provides an intimate space for smaller gatherings, while the UPS Great Room accommodates larger celebrations with its breathtaking views.
Meanwhile, the Hockensmith Barn, true to its original farm-barn inspiration, offers a unique ambiance with exposed support beams and overhead wooden features. The open slats allow the weather to become a part of your celebration during the warm months, creating a magical atmosphere with twinkle lights draped across the rafters.
Now, let’s talk logistics. The Gheens Foundation Lodge rental for a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday is $4,500 plus tax, with a reduced rate of $4,000 plus tax from January to March. The package includes tables and chairs, set up by their dedicated staff. Ceremonies can be held both indoors and outdoors, with a private deck and outdoor ceremony lawn. The lodge accommodates up to 300 guests.
On the other hand, the Hockensmith Barn, available only on Saturdays from May to October, is priced at $2,700 plus tax (or $2,200 plus tax in July or August). Keep in mind that this venue is not temperature controlled, so it’s ideal for those warm, sunny days. Rental is for an empty space, allowing you the freedom to bring in tables and chairs to suit your vision.
Check out my Louisville Budget Guide!
Both venues offer a generous timeframe for your celebration, providing 4 1/2 hours for the ceremony and reception, along with 4 hours for setup and 2 hours for cleanup. Need more time? Additional hours can be purchased to ensure your day unfolds at your own pace.
While you’re free to bring in your own desserts and linens, the approved caterers will take care of the rest. Please note that all food, drink, including alcohol and bartenders, must come through one of the venue’s trusted caterers, who charge a 15% facility fee.
