The anticipation of welcoming a new member into the family is a time filled with excitement, joy, and tender moments. As a photographer, there’s something truly special about being invited into a family’s home to capture these precious early days. Recently, I had the privilege of documenting such a momentous occasion during a Louisville in-home newborn session with Holly + John’s loving family of four.

I was so excited when Riley + Nate contacted me about family photos and a pregnancy announcement session. Family photos are a special time anyway, but when also celebrating a new beginning, and taking pictures to share that news to the world – family photos take on a whole new level of excitement. Riley, Nate, and their little girl Sloan could not have been more fun to work with, and oh my goodness their session was so sweet!

In the weeks following the birth of your newest family member you are in this sweet, short season of life where your baby is brand new and tiny. It is a wonderful memory to be able to look back and remember this whirlwind of a time – and I highly recommend it. Sarah + Hans’ Louisville newborn session was full of laughter and joy and the Encanto soundtrack playing in the background. Their two year old played with cars and loved on his little brother, and I could immediately tell that this is a home filled with love.

Jess + Rob’s in-home newborn session had to be rescheduled because of snow, but oh my goodness it was worth the wait! Thursday morning I traveled down from Louisville to Frankfort, Kentucky and I was so excited for this one. Being invited into someone’s home during this special time is such a privilege, getting to watch these moments from a front row seat is something that I don’t take lightly, and when I reached Jess and Rob’s home I felt welcomed immediately. They have a two year old son (who reminded me much of my own son!) and after chatting for a bit we all went up to the nursery.
