There’s something magical about the early summer months in Louisville, Kentucky, and Beckley Creek Park provides the perfect backdrop for capturing love in bloom. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing an enchanting engagement session there for a lovely couple, Nate + Jordan, who are eagerly counting down the days until their August wedding.
Beckley Creek Park is a treasure trove of natural beauty, offering diverse landscapes that create stunning photo opportunities. From its babbling creeks and charming trails to expansive meadows, the park is an ideal setting for an engagement shoot. The lush greenery and vibrant blooms of June added a touch of magic to every shot.
We scheduled the session for early evening to take advantage of golden hour. As the sun dipped lower in the sky, it cast a warm, golden light that illuminated Nate + Jordan and the park’s scenery beautifully. Although it was a humid summer day there was a gentle breeze, creating a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere, and just by looking at Nate + Jordan you can’t tell at all that it was hot out – they are absolutely gorgeous!
Nate + Jordan have a love story that is both heartwarming and inspiring. They met while away at college and their connection was instant. After spending time long distance through Covid (Nate is originally from Ohio while Jordan is from Wisconsin), they are so excited to be in this phase of life together, and are soaking up all the time together that they can.
During the shoot, it was evident how deeply Nate + Jordan care for each other. The way they looked at each other, shared inside jokes, and supported one another throughout the session was a testament to their strong bond. Capturing these genuine moments was a delight and made for some truly special photographs.
This session had some special guests that added an extra layer of meaning and joy to the day. Nate + Jordan brought along their beloved dog, Barley, who was a bundle of energy and fun. Barley’s playful spirit added a lively dynamic to the session, and we captured some heartwarming shots of the couple interacting with their furry friend.
A heartfelt detail of the day was Jordan’s mom driving all the way from Wisconsin to be there. She not only wanted to support her daughter and future son-in-law but also helped take care of Barley during the shoot. Her presence was a touching reminder of the love and support that surrounds Nate + Jordan as they prepare for their wedding.
With their wedding just around the corner in August, Nate + Jordan are excitedly making final preparations. Their engagement session at Beckley Creek Park was not just a prelude to their big day but also a celebration of their journey together. The photos from this session will be cherished memories, capturing the joy and anticipation of this special time in their lives.
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to their wedding day. I can’t wait to capture the next chapter of their love story and share more beautiful moments with you all!
