Nestled in the heart of Springfield, KY, Cornerstone Acres offers a wedding experience steeped in history and charm. I first met Joy (one of the owners of Cornerstone Acres) Tuesday afternoon for a tour of the historic estate, and I was instantly impressed. The love, care, and dedication Joy and Jeremy have put into their home is absolutely incredible. Whether you’re dreaming of an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, Cornerstone Acres provides a picturesque setting that will make your special day unforgettable.
At Cornerstone Acres, you have the luxury of choosing from four distinct ceremony locations, each offering its own unique ambiance and beauty:
Preparation is key to a perfect wedding day, and Cornerstone Acres ensures that both the bride and groom have beautiful spaces to get ready. The bridal party can enjoy their own suite inside the historic Litsey House, complete with all the amenities needed for a relaxing and glamorous pre-wedding experience. The bridal suite boasts gorgeous natural light, a historic canopy bed, 14 ft ceilings, a full-length mirror. The fireplace is a showstopper that is completely original to the house, built over 200 years ago. Adjoining the bridal suite is an elegant bath surrounded by windows overlooking the Kentucky landscape. The bathroom is complete with a large shower and double vanity. Meanwhile, the groom and his groomsmen have access to a charming cabin, providing a cozy and comfortable space to prepare for the big day.
Following the ceremony, guests can celebrate in style at Milestone Hall, the dedicated reception building. This spacious venue can comfortably accommodate over 200 guests, making it perfect for large gatherings. Milestone Hall features large restrooms, chandeliers that add a touch of elegance, and a covered patio that overlooks a pond surrounded by pastureland and woodland. The patio also boasts views of the glorious Kentucky sunset, creating a breathtaking setting for your celebration.
The estate, built in 1794, is a testament to timeless beauty and historic charm. The drive leading to the historic house is lined with wildflowers and a 100-year-old stone fence, setting a magical scene from the moment you arrive. Sitting on 30 acres of Kentucky countryside, the estate boasts the most glorious sunsets. The house itself features a charming front porch, a gorgeous curved staircase, and a second-story balcony, all of which make perfect backdrops for getting-ready photos and first looks. Nearby, the charming fireside pavilion provides a peaceful spot to enjoy the countryside, and on chilly days, it offers the warm glow of a fireside gathering.
Cornerstone Acres is more than just a beautiful venue; it’s a place rich with heartfelt traditions. The previous owners of the Litsey House had a cherished ritual: no matter how busy their day was, they would stop everything each evening, hold hands, and watch the sunset together. They placed cornerstones around the property at each of their favorite sunset-watching spots. These special locations are not only picturesque but also imbued with the spirit of love and dedication, making them ideal places for your own moments of reflection and joy. This history and the concept of cornerstones being so crucial to building solid foundations, inspired Joy and Jeremy to name their business Cornerstone Acres. Their dream is to be the cornerstone for your milestones.
The current owners, Joy and Jeremy, live onsite and handle all the upkeep and maintenance themselves. The love and care they have for this place is abundantly evident, and you can tell they want everyone to feel the same. As Joy took me on a tour of the property using their Cornerstone Acres golf cart, she said, “This place is meant to be shared.” Their passion for preserving the history and beauty of the venue is clear, and they are dedicated to ensuring that Cornerstone Acres remains a beloved and well-cared-for space, ready to be passed on to others.
Choosing Cornerstone Acres for your wedding means choosing a venue that is committed to making your milestone moment as special as possible. With its blend of historic charm, modern amenities, and beautiful natural surroundings, this venue provides everything you need for a truly memorable wedding day.
