Battling Bugs and Humidity with Grace
July in Kentucky doesn’t mess around. The heat and humidity were definitely in full force, and the mosquitoes came to party. Thankfully, the sun was starting to dip behind the trees by the time we got started, offering us some much-needed shade and that beautiful golden glow. You’d never know from the photos that we were swatting bugs and wiping sweat between shots—Madison + JD handled it like total champs.
High School Sweethearts, Forever in Love
These two have been together since high school, and their love for each other is just effortless. Every glance, every laugh, every quiet moment between them spoke volumes. Now living in South Carolina while Madison pursues graduate school, they made a special trip back to their hometown of Louisville to handle some wedding prep—and I’m so glad an engagement session was part of it!
Golden Light, Gentle Deer, and So Much Joy
Anchorage Trail is always a lovely spot, but this evening felt extra magical. While we wandered through the grass and tree-lined path, two baby deer appeared, munching and relaxing in the field nearby. Naturally, we paused to soak it in and capture a few frames with our unexpected guests—those are the moments that make a session unforgettable.
Counting Down to October at Gardencourt
It was such a joy to spend time with Madison + JD, laughing our way through the session and watching their love shine. I absolutely cannot wait to photograph their wedding next October at the stunning Gardencourt—it’s going to be a beautiful celebration of everything that makes their story so special.
